Subida Ubrique 2015 – 25th/26th April

The first round of the European Hillclimb Championship and the FIA International Hillclimb Cup and the third round of the Spanish Championship. Ubrique is always a well attended and highly competitive event and this year this was certainly the case. Not only was there a full entry of 87 cars but the event was overun with spectators. The service area prior to the start on Saturday was mobbed with many of the very young running round all the drivers collecting autographs, the organisers having produced a programme specially for this with a brief pen portrait of each driver, a […]

Subida Penas Blancas Estepona 2015 – 11/12th April – Andalusia

The start line all dry at the bottom of the hill.
A later than preferred arrival to Malaga from a family break meant a lack of training for the weekend which was a bit of concern, but luckily this was not the case.
The car thankfully was in good form as Neil had gone out a couple of days before the event to prepare the car. He’d left nothing to chance.
The weather forecast for the weekend was not promising and true to form rain ensued from half way up the route which caused a fair amount of concern amongst the […]

Rfeda – 2015 National Spanish Hillclimb Championship – Round 1

As this was the first round and we’d had a fairly poor start to the year in 2014 we decided we should be there even though it was going to be a logistical nightmare in transporting everything from the UK, but “You have to be in it to win it” as they say.
The main sponsors for the event were a company called Armass, the ferry operators from mainland Spain to the Canary islands, so we thought we would receive some planning an transport help […]

First Top of the Podium for the Ginetta G50! – Win at Algar.

2014 Subida a Algar – Practice/Shakedown event before the first round of the National championship

This event is the first in the calendar of the Andalusian championship, close to the lakes area of Arcos de la Frontera, and one that we had won the year before with a time of 1 min 26.2 seconds. The road is not the best to be honest to truly test the cars pace, it is very tight and twisty very worn and shiny tarmac and broken in some places. The run is only 2.55 kilometres in length.
The event is again, […]

Round Eight: The Andalusian Montana

Having been a Ginetta G50 owner for just a few months, Mike Anderson is one member of the Ginetta racing family who uses his race car for something other than circuit racing – travelling across Europe to compete in Hill Climb events. Here’s what he got up to recently…

The event was a double header […]
